Megan Valanidas | Industrial Design

Bio

Megan thinks deeply about how we can use design to restore and preserve our wild spaces. Her work re-examines methods for learning, creative story telling, biodesign strategies as well as traditional industrial design.

Megan's current work examines our waste streams in an effort to identify opportunities for new compostable plastics. She is interested in healthy ecosystems, new materials and convenience.

She grew up on the Chesapeake Bay, crabbing and making sculptures of found beach trash. Megan developed a fast interest in detritus and our natural world. She can be found observing patterns in the wild and trying to imitate them in the studio.
